  1. Although I haven't been a member of this list for long, I have noticed a 
  2. number of requests for features in Lightwave and Modeler.  Features like 
  3. B-Splines in the modeler and in layout, envelopes for textures and 
  4. surfaces, etc.

  6. THE GOOD NEWS:

  8. If you're a serious animator, you should really consider picking up a 
  9. copy of Aladdin 4D.  Most of the feature requests I've seen posted to this 
  10. list are already present in Aladdin 4D.  Now, don't get me wrong.  Aladdin  
  11. can not replace Lightwave or Modeler for ease of animating.  But for 
  12. special effects, it's an invaluable tool.  It features:

  14. True 3D Gases    Particle Animation    B-Spline Modeling
  15. True 3D Waves    Spline Control over all model attributes
  16. Object Instancing    Both Keyframe and Timeline Animation control
  17. Ture 3D explosions    A Horde of powerful modeling tools
  18. And More.

  20. I guess the real joy of this program is that it does not put limitations 
  21. on the animator.  Animations that come out of Aladdin do not suffer from 
  22. the "That Was Done In That Program" syndrome.  Your animations will 
  23. truely reflect your style.

  25. THE BAD NEWS:

  27. Because Aladdin 4D does not place limitations on its users, it can be a 
  28. frightening program for the novice animator.  For this reason, I DO NOT 
  29. recommend that beginners purchase this program.  It is strictly for those 
  30. who are using Lightwave but find themselves running into walls because of 
  31. the lack of control over the software.

  33. THE HAPPY ENDING:

  35. The demise of Commodore has caused hard times for most Amiga software 
  36. vendors, and many have gone out of business or left for "greener" 
  37. pastures.  While this is no cause for celebration, it has opened up a 
  38. rare oportunity.  AdSpec Programming, the creators of Aladdin 4D, have 
  39. sent out a notice to all their registered users, of which I am one.  They 
  40. are now offering Aladdin 4D to user's friends for only $149.00.  Just 
  41. call AdSpec and tell them you heard about the program from me, and 
  42. they'll sell you a copy for $149.  With other utilites like Pixel 3D Pro 
  43. and SPARKS costing about the same price, you can't go wrong.  I'm no 
  44. salesman, and I am not affiliated with AdSpec in any way, but I know how 
  45. much use I get out of the software, and how many times a client has asked 
  46. for a special effect that couldn't be done in ANY other software.  So I'm 
  47. telling you about this great offer.  DevWare Video and Amiga Warehouse 
  48. both list Aladdin 4D for $259.00.  You'll be saving approximately $100.
